A minimum of 6 students will be required for classes to begin. Classes will be limited to the first 15 that sign up.

ACCA – SP does not and will not make any recommendations for equipment brands.  There will be no solicitation of brands or technicians inside our training facility

EPA Certification & Exam – 
Saturday January 12, 2008                      8 am – 4 pm

Section 608 of the Federal Clean Air Act requires all persons who maintain, service, repair, or dispose of appliances containing regulated refrigerants be certified in proper handling techniques.  This class is intended to prepare technicians for the certification test and contains all the information a tech will require to successfully complete the test.  Technicians should be familiar with the basic vapor - compression  refrigeration cycle and common service equipment and procedures.  Study material and test included in tuition.

NATE Prep Class & Exam – 
Feb 12, Feb 14, and Feb 18                    8 am - 12 pm

The NATE is a national certification for HVAC technicians.  Many manufacturers are insisting that only NATE certified technicians install their high efficiency units.  To receive certification, tech must pass the core exam plus one specialty exam.  Specialties include air conditioning, heat pump, gas heating, or oil furnaces.  All exams are geared toward the Installation Technician or the Service Technician with at least two years or more field experience.  Prep course is recommended for those wishing to review exam subjects.  Prep classes are held Feb12 and Feb14 from 8 am to 12 pm.  The NATE exam will be given on Feb 18 beginning at 1 pm.

Heat Pump with Electric Heat
 Tuesday February 19                           1 pm - 5 pm
 Class will cover knowledge of tools, terminology, testing, and troubleshooting, with diagnostics/hands-on training in our working lab.  Study material included in tuition.

Nonmember:  $125        Member:  $105

NATE Certified Gas Heat with Combustion Analyzing -
4 CEUs
Wednesday February 27                         1 pm - 5 pm

Class will cover knowledge of tools, terminology, testing and troubleshooting, with diagnostics/hands-on training in our working lab.  Study materials included in tuition.  Approved for four (4) hours of NATE CEUs.

Basic A/C Installation & Start Up Procedures
Wednesday March 12, 2008                     8 am – 12 pm

This course teaches the technician proper installation of condensing units, and walks them thru proper start-up procedures. Students will learn what to do when a unit has been installed to maximize condenser life, minimize warranty calls, and maximize customer satisfaction so your company will get more word-of-mouth referrals. Hands-on training with live units is coupled with lecture session. Study material and breakfast included in tuition.

Electrical HVACR Component Troubleshooting
Thursday March 27                                    1 pm - 5 pm

A course designed to familiarize the student with basic electrical theory, safety, wiring practices and electrical code compliance. Wiring diagrams and symbols are studied and put into practice. Analog and digital multimeter use are discussed and practiced. Study material and meal included in tuition.

Trade Basics

Friday April 4                                       1 pm – 5 pm


This class is designed for dispatchers or even spouses of technicians who would like to know how a furnace works, what an evaporator and a condenser is and how and why they work the way they do.  Everything is taught in layman’s terms.  Good for new hires, homeowners, and counter help.

Charging, Evacuation & Recovery

Tuesday April 8                                     1 pm – 5 pm


Learn proper evacuation and recovery techniques as well as how to properly charge a unit.  Learn what happens when you over/under charge the system.
