Air Conditioning Technician online applications now available!

 

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) is now accepting applications for Air Conditioning Technicians.  You can apply online by going to

The law states that any person who assists a licensed air conditioning and refrigeration contractor in performing air conditioning and refrigeration maintenance work must register. If you are working as an Air Conditioning Technician, you need to register with TDLR and can do so today by applying online.

 

The only requirements for registering are submitting a completed application online and paying the required $20 fee.

 

All Air Conditioning Technicians have until June 30, 2008 to register. If you choose to add a certification to your registration, you may do so for an additional fee of $15.  You may be eligible for certification if you have passed any of the following exams:

 

NATE (North American Technician Excellence)

RSES CM and CMS Refrigeration Service Engineers Society

HVAC EXCELLENCE

ICC- International Code Council

IAPMO- International Association Plumbing and Mechanical Officials

UA - Star HVAC Certification

TSTC, HVAC

Everest Institute, HVAC

Commercial 13 SEER Mandate Set to Hit in June 2008

Many of you may be aware, some of you may not be aware, that the recently signed Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 will mandate 13 SEER Commercial Cooling Products beginning in June, 2008.  Many manu­facturers have been letting their customers know of this massive change in the SEER Standards for Commercial Product, and we expect to see much more information in the future.  As we receive this information we will pass it along to the members.
